Committees
In an effort to increase WAA’s strategic and operational effectiveness – and more effectively harness our tremendous volunteer resources -- the WAA Board recently announced several exciting changes to the existing committee structure. In doing so, we aim to promote better communication between committees by focusing on the following key strategic priorities:
- Inform and educate the marketplace about the field of web analytics, champion the effort to create, train and certify web analytics professionals, and encourage institutions of higher learning to add web analytics to their curricula
- Provide relevant and useful data and insight into trends, best practices, and emerging issues facing the Web measurement and analytics industry
- Define web analytics measures in order to develop common vocabulary, definitions and standards for measuring and reporting web metrics
- Increase and promote the value of WAA membership
Explore WAA-endorsed websites, publications, and organizations that offer informative content related to web analytics issues.

Get Involved, Change the Industry
For WAA to truly represent our industry, we need your active participation. This is your chance to get involved. Please join us during this exciting time of creating a new force in web analytics.
With your help, we can develop and offer training and certification to advance the professionalism of our trade. We can encourage institutions of higher learning to add web analytics to their curricula. And, we take action to unite web analytics professionals to engage in discussion, agree upon standards and definitions, and combine forces to more clearly define and more powerfully promote web analytics worldwide.
We currently have four active WAA committees, and we welcome committed members:
Special Interest Groups
In addition, to these committees, Special Interest Groups (SIG) will be formed to leverage members’ knowledge and interest in a particular issue. SIGs will address a specific industry or technological challenge and serve as a resource for members and WAA leadership. In some cases, the deliverable will be a white paper or guidance document that will be shared with members and industry leaders.
Information on SIGs will be added to the site as they become organized.
Public Sector SIG
